Oak Cottage Residential Care Home
Our Philosophy

We aim to provide our service users with a secure and relaxed environment in which their wellbeing and comfort are of prime importance. We achieve this through activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction with others, and with recognition of the following core values of care which are fundamental to the philosophy of our home.

Carers

Our carers are fully trained and will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere and in doing so will be sensitive to the Services Users' ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social.

I think you all do an amazing job...

...taking care of not just my mum but all the residents. I know them all well like one big family and you all enable that atmosphere to develop through your love and dedication. I don’t feel it’s a care home but more like home, not just for my mum, but also for me when ever I come there. Most importantly I always know when I leave mum each time that she is safe and thoroughly cared for. You are all an inspiration.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care...

...my father has received at Oak Cottage. The team go all out to make sure their cherished residents are provided with care and affection.

- Eve Pengelly

My mother has lived at Oak Cottage since 2005...

...When I visit she is bright and cheerful and seems content. She is very well cared for and, at 93 years of age, remains in good health. I believe the staff at Oak Cottage treat my mother and the other residents with great kindness and consideration.

My mother was very happy at Oak Cottage...

...and we are enormously grateful to all the staff for the care and devotion shown to her.
